Zbiotics

I love having a good time with my friends...who doesn't? But the hangover the next day isn't fun. That's why I always take a Z before a long night. There are many supposed hangover cures, but this stuff is the real deal, engineered by a team of PhD microbiologists. Banza Barilla Protein Plus

(December 2023) Banza is dead to me now. Barilla Protein Plus is where it's at.

If you're going to be bulking (see fitness section below), you need to make sure to have a balanced diet. Think of banza as basically the bottom of the food pyramid. For a little extra nutrition, add some broccoli to it. I love all their products, especially the mac & cheese. The cheese that comes with it is ok, but I like to order my own from Amazon on side...ask me for the link :).

Smoothies

Making fruit and protein smoothies is another great way to get a balanced diet. In my own kitchen, I tried a lot of different blenders (included 2 different types of Vitamixes), before settling on the Vitamix 5200. It blends to a consistent texture, and the tall and thin container makes it perfect for single servings.

Here's a sample recipe, tested by Ben on November 7, 2024:

To break up the monotony of existence, I recommend adding cacao nibs & switching up the protein powder flavor. And if you yearn for a lighter smoothie, try halving the oats, 3/5ths-ing the milk, and adding ice.

Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker

Make it easy for yourself to get your macros dialed in. Put a cup of rice in before you start work in the morning. You'll have fluffy rice all day. Add some Fage yogurt as well to boost the protein.
